Patty Jenkins Will Develop ‘Wonder Woman’ Sequel

There’s more good news for Wonder Woman fans: Patty Jenkins will be returning for the sequel. After incredibly favorable reviews for her work on the massively successful new Wonder Woman film, this decision makes excellent sense. In its opening weekend, the film made an impressively powerful debut and with more time yet to be viewed, it looks like the film is going to continue to perform in the box office.

Even better, Jenkins will be penning the script for the upcoming sequel! However, the extent of her influence in the next film is not completely confirmed, meaning that new director may helm the film.

Though the time period of the next film has not been exactly revealed, Toby Emmerich, the President of Warner Bros Pictures, admitted that it will take place at year between the end of the first film and 2017.

While there is currently no confirmed cast list for the sequel, given Emmerich’s vast mentioned time frame, it’s entirely possible that characters from the first film may get another appearance. When asked as to whether or not she would return like director Patty Jenkins and lead actress, Gal Gadot, Elena Anaya (Dr. Poison) admitted that she didn’t have an answer, but would definitely enjoy being part of the sequel. It looks like there are plenty of possibilities for the next movie!
