Paranormal Investigator Depicted in ‘The Conjuring’, Lorraine Warren, Has Died at 92

Iconic paranormal investigator of the 1960s and 70s, Lorraine Warren, has passed away at the age of 92. She and her husband, Ed Warren (who died in 2006), were a duo of paranormal investigators who tackled various cases, many that would gain iconic status throughout their careers.

This news was brought to light in a Facebook post by Tony Spera who happens to be Warren’s son-in-law.

The Warrens’ many cases would go on to inspire films such as 2009’s The Haunting in Connecticut or the recently successful The Conjuring universe. In The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2, and the upcoming Annabelle Comes Home, Lorraine Warren is portrayed by American actress and director, Vera Farmiga. The actress paid her respects to the investigator she has portrayed via Twitter.

Robert Thornson Jr.: My name is Robert and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of California Irvine. I am pursuing a B.A. in Film and Media studies with hopes to work in the creative industry. I have always had a passion for storytelling and since youth I've loved film. I grew up loving the movies of directors like Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, and many more along with writers such as Aaron Sorkin and Quentin Tarantino. One thing I have always done is write about movies and communicate to others information about the "film community" and the industry as well as about the films themselves. I write creatively on a daily basis.
