Recently, Paramount Pictures released a new trailer for their upcoming animated comedy, The Angry Birds 3. The main cast of the previous movies are set to return, with Jason Sudeikis again reprising his leading role as Red, along with Josh Gad as Chuck, Rachel Bloom as Silver and Danny McBride as Bomb. Additionally, the new cast includes Emma Myers, Walker Scobell, Keke Palmer, Tim Robinson, MrBeast, Lily James and, making his voice-acting debut, Psalm West.
News of another Angry Birds movie was reported all the way back in 2021, when Sony Pictures was still the studio helming the franchise. Paramount Pictures has of course taken over, an announcement that followed a year after the movie’s official announcement in 2024. Paramount has also collaborated with the video game company Sega for The Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise. Fans may notice the titular blue speedster’s sudden appearance in The Angry Birds 3 trailer, seemingly running alongside the similarly fast Chuck.
Narratively, as the trailer shows, Red has built a family with his love-interest Silver, fathering three children. His venture into fatherhood will prove to be comedically chaotic when Red must also try and save his world from extinction.
The movie is scheduled to release on December 23rd, 2026, just in time for families to watch around the holidays.
