Another new trailer has been released for the upcoming Gladiator II. The film comes to audiences once again from acclaimed director Ridley Scott.
Gladiator II sees a young fighter, Lucius, confront the demons of his past while attempting to overturn the tyranny that’s taken hold of Rome.
Paul Mescal leads the film as Lucius, joined by Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, and Joseph Quinn, and features Connie Nielsen reprising her role from the first Gladiator.
Pascal’s role in Gladiator II comes ahead of his MCU debut as the iconic comic character Mr. Fantastic in next year’s Fantastic Four: First Steps. Quinn will also star alongside Pascal as fellow team member Human Torch in the film.
David Scarpa penned the film’s script, taking over from Gladiator trio David Franzoni, John Logan, and William Nicholson. Scarpa has collaborated with Scott several times before, going as far back as 2017’s All The Money In The World. The two also worked together on last year’s Napoleon.
Deadline made note of the new trailer revealing details of a specific scene. An interaction between Lucius and Washington’s character is shown off when the two decide to ally. Washington’s character is shown to not care for what Lucius wants but rather sees the advantage in aligning himself with him for the time being.
Gladiator II hits theaters on November 22nd.
