Nickelodeon animated series PAW Patrol is getting animated, and a whole set of celebrities is lending their voices to the movie set for a theatrical release on Aug. 20, 2021. The film’s production with creators, artists, casts, and producers are collaborating remotely during the pandemic.
Kim Kardashian Jimmy Kimmel, Tyler Perry, Randall Park (Fresh Off The Boat), Dax Shepard (Bless This Mess), Yara Shahidi (Black-ish), Ian Armitage (Young Sheldon), Marsai Martin (Black-ish), and Will Brisbin (Forbidden Playground) will be voicing in the animated movie. Animation vet Cal Brunker (Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature and Escape From Planet Earth) is set to direct.
The PAW Patrol series premiered in 2013, and it follows a young boy named Ryder, who leads a crew of search-and-rescue dogs that work together on missions to protect the shoreside community of Adventure Bay. The pups’ names are Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Zuma, Rocky, and Skye, and they live in houses that transform into vehicles for their missions. The animated movie is about Ryder and the pups being called to Adventure City to stop Mayor Humdinger from turning the bustling metropolis into a state of chaos.
Spin Master Entertainment’s Executive VP, Jennifer Dodge, is producing the movie with Ronnen Harary, Spin Master co-founder, co-CEO Adam Beder, and Peter Schlessel as executive producers.
The series is currently on its seventh season and has been renewed for an eighth season.
