Pamela Anderson Shines As ‘The Last Showgirl’ In New Trailer

Pamela Anderson in 'The Last Showgirl'

Roadside Attractions has released the first trailer for the Pamela Anderson-led The Last Showgirl.

The upcoming film, a Gia Coppola-directed glamour drama, is packed with “resilience, rhinestones and feathers.” Anderson, best known for her role as C.J. Parker in the long-running Baywatch series, stars as Shelley, a Vegas showgirl at a physical and emotional crossroads following the abrupt closure of her 30-year show.

The Last Showgirl debuted to positive reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival this past September, launching Anderson’s campaign for next year’s Academy Awards. The film will have a limited, awards-qualifying release in Los Angeles on Dec. 13. A wide release is set for Jan. 10, 2025.

Rounding out Shelley’s ensemble are Oscar-winning Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere All at Once) as Shelley’s close friend and Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) as her ex-lover and manager. Billie Lourd (Booksmart) will play Shelley’s daughter, while Brenda Song (The Social Network) and Kiernan Shipka (Longlegs) portray fellow showgirls.

The trailer includes a quote from The Hollywood Reporter’s review, which describes Anderson’s performance as “transformative.” This marks her first return to the big screen since her cameo in 2017’s Baywatch reboot. At TIFF, Anderson reflected on her career, saying, “A lot of my career was about physicality, and it’s been a journey. But it’s also been part of the reason why I’ve kind of done this experiment with myself, just, you know, peeling it all back, remembering who I am—not being defined by what people do to me, but by what I do.”
