Pamela Anderson and Guy Pearce are set to lead the indie film feature Queen of the Falls. Although no plot has been revealed yet, the project is described as “a music-infused tale about two lovers on the run.”
The feature will hail from the filmmaking pair of Rania Attieh and Daniel Garcia, who will co-write the script and direct. They first gained prominence in 2014 when the pair won the “Someone to Watch” Independent Spirit Award for their 2014 mystery film H. Their other films include Ok, Enough, Goodbye (2010), Recommended by Enrique (2014), and Initials S.G. (2019). The duo won the Nora Ephron award at the Tribeca Film Festival for the last-mentioned feature. La La Land’s Marius De Vries is set to do the music, while Aftersun’s Celia Rowlson Hall will choreograph.
Anderson recently starred in Gia Coppola’s 2024 drama The Last Showgirl, which earned the actress a Golden Globe nomination for Best Female Actor in a Drama. This year, she starred opposite Liam Neeson in The Naked Gun reboot. She recently completed production for the upcoming thriller Rosebush Pruning and is currently filming the upcoming Kornél Mundruczó feature Place to Be.
Pearce also had a Golden Globe nomination in 2024 for his supporting role in Brady Corbet’s epic period film The Brutalist, the role also earned him an Academy Award nomination. This year, he has two films set to release in October: supernatural thriller Killing Faith and Netflix’s thriller The Woman in Cabin 10. He is currently filming Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic feature adaptation The Dog Stars.
