Owen Teague, the actor behind the insane and violent Patrick Hockstetter in the new adaptation of It, has officially been cast for supernatural thriller Mary along with Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour, The Dark Knight Trilogy), according to Variety. Teague is also known for playing Kyle Chandler’s long lost nephew in Netflix’s Bloodline.
Mary will follow a family which purchases a ship at an auction to begin a business on the boat. Nothing goes as planned as the family discovers the haunting history behind the old ship while in the middle of the ocean. Will the family be able to escape the horrors that await them while exploring the ship?
Oldman will be playing the father that acts as the captain of the ship while Teague will be playing the second-in-command who joins the crew. Michael Goi (American Horror Story, Salem) will be making his long-awaited return to directing film, with his last film being released in 1999 titled Voyeur. He will be directing from a script written by Anthony Jaswinski (The Shallows, Kristy). The film already has a slew of producers including Tucker Tooley, Scott Lambert, Scott Lumpkin, and Alexandra Milchan as producers and Douglas Urbanski, Greg Renker, and Jason Barhydt executive producing.
The film currently does not have an announced release date, but filming is supposed to begin this September in Alabama.
