The intensity of firefighting has been exhibited many times in film, but little have discussed the intensity or the danger in wild fire fighting. Only the Brave shows us once again the difficulties of forest firefighting with its new trailer.
Only the Brave specifically follows the story of a team of firefighters by the name of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, who were a real life firefighting team that battled the Yarnell Hill Fire in Arizona back in 2013. The film will focus on the hardships of training, family, and the eventual heartbreak of firefighting. The film boasts an extremely talented cast including Josh Brolin (No Country For Old Men), Miles Teller (Whiplash), Jeff Bridges (The Big Lebowski), Taylor Kitsch (John Carter), Jennifer Connelly (Requiem for a Dream), and James Badge Dale (The Departed).
The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski, who had previously worked with Bridges on Tron: Legacy and is slated to direct the new Top Gun: Maverick. The film features a screenplay by Ken Nolan, who wrote the intense war film Black Hawk Down and has been selected to write for the next two Transformers films. The Granite Mountain Hotshots will be fighting the fires on October 20th.
