According to a 20th Century Studios press release, The Dog Stars’ official trailer has been released. The film introduced the characters and their environment pre-dystopia, before clips of a wasteland and fire are shown. Suspense builds as action scenes showcase a fight between two groups of people. The Sci-Fi Action film centers around young pilot Hig and ex-military man Bangley, who create a plantation in a dystopian world. Tension arises when Hig receives a radio transmission that encourages him to further hold onto hope.
The film stars Jacob Elordi (The Kissing Booth, Wuthering Heights), Allison Janney (10 Things I Hate About You, Breaking News in Yuba County), Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange, Deadly Class), Guy Pearce (Iron Man 3, The Woman in Cabin 10), Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, Poor Things) and Josh Brolin (Weapons, Avengers: Infinity War). The film is based on the novel written by Peter Heller (Brown Sugar, Like Mike). Cliff Roberts (The Midnight Sky, Sleeping Dogs), Mark L. Smith (American Primeval, Untamed), who also wrote the screenplay, Michael Pruss (Come Swim, Earthquake Bird) and Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Alien) are producing. The executive producers include Aidan Elliot (Napoleon, House of Gucci), Brandon Scott Smith (In the Dark of the Valley, No Place for Football), Lily Brooks-Dalton (Ruins, Midnight), and Heller.
