On July 31, the official poster for Sean Baker’s Anora was released. The poster features Mikey Madison and Mark Eydelshteyn in a photo from a still in the film’s trailer. Madison and Eydelshteyn will portray the film’s main roles, Anora and Ivan. The top of the poster reads “A love story from Sean Baker,” setting up fans’ expectations for this already award-winning film.
Anora follows the story of Anora as she marries the son of an oligarch. Anora previously worked as a sex worker in Brooklyn, and when she finally has a chance at a once-in-a-lifetime love story, everything becomes threatened as her parents try to annul the marriage.
Anora won the Palme d’Or at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, resulting in NEON’s 5th year winning in a row. Their previous winning titles included Parasite, Titane, Triangle of Sadness, Anatomy of a Fall, and now Anora.
Baker poses as the film’s director, writer, and producer. The film also stars Karren Karagulian as Toros, Yuriy Borisov as Igor, Vache Tovmasyan as Garnick, and many more.
Anora will hit theatres on October 18.
