The nominees for this year’s British Academy Film Awards have been unveiled. The list of nominees for the 75th ceremony mostly consists of film and actors that were expected to be represented. Still, one or two surprises managed to sneak among the nominees.
The big names are Dune with a whopping 11 nominations, followed by The Power Of The Dog with eight nominations, and Belfast with six. Licorice Pizza, No Time To Die, and West Side Story have five nominations, while After Love, Boiling Point, Cyrano, Don’t Look Up, and King Richard has snatched four nominations each.
The nominations for Best Film are: Belfast by director Kenneth Branagh, Don’t Look Up by Adam McKay, Dune by Denis Villeneuve, Licorice Pizza by Paul Thomas Anderson, and The Power Of The Dog by Jane Campion.
Nominations for Outstanding British Film are: After Love, Ali & Ava, Belfast, Boiling Point, Cyrano, House of Gucci, Last Night in Soho, No Time To Die, and Everybody Is Talking About Jamie.
Nominations for Outstanding Debut By British Writer, Director, or Producer: After Love by screenplay writer and director Aleem Khan, Boiling Point by writer James Cummings, The Harder They Fall by screenplay writer Jeymes Samuel, Keyboard Fantasies by Posy Dixon, and Passing by writer and director Rebecca Hall.
