VMI Worldwide, Verdi Productions, and Source M+P have completed principal photography in Rhode Island on Stung, an indie creature-feature horror thriller written and directed by Colin Minihan (What Keeps You Alive, Grave Encounters). The production has rounded out its principal cast with Odeya Rush (Lady Bird, Goosebumps), Annarah Cymone (The Midnight Club, Midnight Mass), and Neela Jolene, joining previously announced leads Iris Apatow (Tell Me Lies, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping) and Justin Long (Barbarian, Coyotes). The supporting cast includes Teddy Parker, Kayln Harper, James Baccile, Tom DeNucci, Kea Ho, and Rob Goon. 

The narrative centers on four friends—Jess (Apatow), Maya (Rush), Brooke (Cymone), and Rachel (Jolene)—whose casual girls’ night sleepover devolves into a desperate fight for survival when their secluded house is besieged by a hyper-aggressive swarm of African killer bees. Long portrays Derek, an eccentric, ineffectual neighbor who gets caught in the perimeter as the swarm traps the group inside. Produced by Andre Relis, Chad A. Verdi, Jib Polhemus, Chad Verdi Jr., Paul Luba, and Jessica Russo, the film was shot entirely on location across Rhode Island. Michelle Verdi, Sera Verdi, and Anthony Gudas serve as executive producers.

Minihan previously reteamed with Long on the thriller Coyotes. VMI Worldwide is currently introducing the finished project to international and domestic buyers at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival.
