With a month to go before the release of Tom Ford’s newest film, and the awards buzz building around it, we finally get a sneak peak with the official trailer and poster of Nocturnal Animals.
Written and directed by Ford, the psychological thriller premiered at the Venice Film Festival where it won the Grand Jury Prize, and has been making the festival rounds for the last two months. Based on the 1993 novel Tony and Susan by Austin Wright, the film is a haunting tale which follows art gallery owner Susan Morrow (Adams) as she reads through a disturbing, yet enthralling manuscript written by her ex-husband (Gyllenhaal). Staying true to Ford’s artistic background, the film beautifully blends two separate storylines and environments, allowing gritty fiction to mix with a glossy reality.
The ensemble cast includes Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Armie Hammer, Isla Fisher, Laura Linney, and Michael Sheen.
The official trailer gives a more in-depth look at the storyline than the previously released teaser trailer, while the official poster has similarities to the character posters that were released last month, but now depicts only its the lead characters portrayed by Adams and Gyllenhaal, one image overlaying the other.
Nocturnal Animals will be released in Los Angeles on November 18th, followed by a limited release on November 23rd.
