Noah Centineo Leaves ‘Masters of the Universe’

Actor Noah Centineo has departed Masters of the Universe, according to Collider. Centieno, most famous for being in what feels like every single Netflix movie ever made, was rumored to be cast as the latest He-Man in this reboot of the franchise. Centieno’s representatives did not give a reason for the departure. However, he had been attached to the project for nearly two years ago, and it seems that the film has hit a bit of a snag.

The reboot will be written and directed by Aaron and Adam Nee, with some earlier scripts written by such huge scribes as David S. Goyer and Matt Holloway.

Sony, who is producing the film, has made no statement about Centenio’s departure.

There has not been a move about the popular toy franchise since a critical and financial flop in the 1987 Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella Masters of the Universe. While the characters are still in popular culture, not much has been done with them since then.

Centineo departs, which means Sony will be looking for a replacement rather soon. Centieno at the moment is filming Black Adam, which also hit many snags on its way to production.

Masters of the Universe has no set release date as of now.
