There is no slowing down everyone’s favorite wallcrawler. Spider-Man: No Way Home is now among the all-time greats in terms of box office numbers. Just a couple of days ago, it surpassed The Avengers from 2012.
Spider-Man: No Way Home has just now passed over $627.4 million globally, thus making it the eighth highest-grossing movie in history, according to Box Office Mojo. The Avengers has hence been bumped down to ninth place with $623.3 million. Spidey and friends are actually not too far from catching up to seventh place Jurassic World with $652.4 million considering the fact that cinema ticket sales for the teenage superhero have barely gone down a 33.7% from its previous week.
In the last ten years, Disney and Marvel have produced some of the highest-grossing films ever. With the exception of a very few, namely Titanic (1997), Avatar (2009), The Dark Knight (2008), Jurassic World (2015), Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999), and Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) all other movies have been produced by The Walt Disney Company. That’s fifteen movies, out of the top twenty-one films in box office history, to have been produced by the house of Mickey Mouse. The two highest-grossing films ever are Star Wars: The Force Awakens in first place with an astounding $936.6 million and Avengers: Endgame in second place with $858.4 million.
In any case, it is safe to assume that Disney and Marvel will want to continue this winning streak and deliver its loyal fan base with more adventures from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be coming out on May 6th, 2022.
