Nicole Kidman’s Blossom Films Acquires Film Rights to “My Lovely Wife”

Nicole Kidman is diving into the books, as Amazon Studios recently acquired the film rights to Samantha Downing’s best-selling novel My Lovely Wife, which will be adapted under Kidman’s Blossom Films banner according to Deadline.

According to Blossom Films, the novel is characterized as a blend of dark comedy and psychological thriller that examines the modern dynamics of human behavior. The novel’s primary characters Tobias and his partner Millicent live under the impression that they are happily married with children. However, this illusion of a happy life harbors many deadly secrets, as Tobias has been assisting his wife in her dangerous appetite for serial killing. When the bodies of her victims are later discovered, however, pressure is placed Tobias which, in turn, leads to distrust for his wife.

My Lovely Wife, which recently received an official release in paperback, made a successful run for Downing. Following its acquisition in a major sale, My Lovely Wife transformed into global boon after seeing publication in over 23 countries. On top of this, the book became a nominee for Best First Novel in the 2020 Edgar Awards and was widely viewed as a masterstroke in the crime fiction genre upon its release.
