Nicole Kidman is set to produce and play the lead in the film adaptation of A.S.A. Harrison’s novel The Silent Wife.
The Silent Wife is a story about Jodi and Todd, a couple who are not officially married, but have been living and functioning together for twenty years. Their days are spent routinely indulging in the finer things in life, however beneath the surface their relationship is crumbling to pieces. Todd is a serial cheater and Jodi is ready to end the charade. The novel alternates between Jodi and Todd’s viewpoints and reveals aspects of their past and relationship a little at a time.
The film is still in the beginning stages of development, and there has been no word yet on which writer or director will be tasked with bringing the story to the big screen, although Kidman’s presence both in front of the camera and behind it should help remedy that.
Kidman can next be seen opposite Colin Firth in The Railway Man, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival on September 6, and Grace of Monaco, in theaters March 14, 2014, in which she stars as Hollywood actress Grace Kelly.
