Nicole Kidman is considering joining Annapurna’s untitled movie about the women of Fox News as former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson. Charlize Theron will also participate in this film as Megyn Kelly.
The film is written by Charles Randolph, the screenwriter of The Big Short, and will be directed by Jay Roach.
The story will focus on the sexual misconduct scandal of Fox News. Roger Ailes was the chairman and CEO of Fox News. He helped launch the careers of Kelly, Carlson, and Sean Hannity. Ailes was also an important figure for the Republicans as he helped elect presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and George W. Bush. However, Ailes was forced to resign in 2016 due to accusations of sexual harassment. Carlson and Kelly were among the most high-profile victims, which directly contributed to his resignation.
The untitled project is described as an ensemble pic, with Ailes and others who were at Fox News during his reign being said to be the major players of film.
