There’s been a lot of casting buzz around Oliver Stone’s upcoming Edward Snowden biopic lately. We learned just few days ago that Timothy Olyphant had been added to the cast, and now Deadline is reporting that Nicolas Cage has signed on to play former U.S. Intelligence official in the film, which will reportedly be titled Snowden. Cage joins an already impressive cast that includes Shailene Woodley (The Fault in Our Stars), Melissa Leo (The Fighter), Zachary Quinto (Agent 47), Tom Wilkinson (Selma), and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Sin City) as the NSA whistleblower. Cage previously worked with Stone on World Trade Center (2005), and he will also be appearing in two other films this year: the thrillers The Runner and Pay the Ghost. The news comes a day after another take on Snowden’s story, Laura Poitras’s Citizenfour, won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
