Nicholas Hoult appears to be preparing to reprise his role as Lex Luthor in Man of Tomorrow, ahead of the film’s expected start date of April 20. An Instagram Story posted by Hoult’s wife, Bryanna Holly, shows the actor with a newly shaved head, with a caption that reads “big, bald, and beautiful. Ready for his return @nicholashoult.”
Man of Tomorrow is set to be a semi-follow-up to 2025’s Superman, following Hoult’s Lex Luthor teaming up with David Corenswet’s Superman to fight the ultra-intelligent antagonist, Braniac, a character who was first introduced in the comics in Action Comics #242 in 1958. Lars Eidinger was announced to be playing Braniac back in December. James Gunn is returning to write and direct Man of Tomorrow. Other actors and characters said to also appear include Aaron Pierre as John Stewart and Maxima (though the actress playing Maxima has not yet been announced).
Man of Tomorrow is currently set to release in theaters on July 9, 2027. Other upcoming DC Studios releases include Supergirl, starring Milly Alcock as the titular heroine and Jason Momoa as the bounty hunter Lobo, set to release on June 26. Clayface, starring Tom Rhys Harries in the leading role, will also be released on October 23 this year.
