Nic Cage will Star in a Movie Based on a H.P. Lovecraft Story

Actor Nic Cage has joined the cast of Color Out of Space, a movie that is being directed by Richard Stanley. Variety has provided list of the movie’s other cast members which includes Joely Richardson, Tommy Chong, Elliot Knight, Julian Hilliard and Q’Orianka Kilcher. According to Deadline the film is being produced by SpectreVision, the company that produced Mandy, which also starred Nic Cage.

Color Out of Space is based off a novella written by H.P. Lovecraft, who is probably one of the most famous and influential horror writers to have ever lived. Some of his most well known horror creations include Cthulhu and the Necronomicon. In the original short story of Color Out of Space a strange meteorite crash lands onto a small farm, and soon strange things start to happen. Color Out of Space is not the first time a Lovecraft story has been adapted into film. A few of these film adaptations include Re-Animator, Forever Evil, and From Beyond.

A lot of the Lovecraft films are known for being campy and creative, so casting Nic Cage in will probably lead to an interesting movie.
