While the Hollywood elite of youth cultural was being slimed and network cornerstone SpongeBob SquarePants was yet again awarded favorite cartoon on Saturday’s Kids Choice Award on Nickelodeon, Paramount released with it two new sneak peeks at the upcoming sequel of their tent pole blockbuster Transformers franchise.
The debut first clip and extended TV spot of Transformers: The Last Knight both showcase the strength and girl-power of newcomer Isabela Moner’s character as she escorts her friends through decimated warzones, teams up with the Autobots and Cade Yeager, played by Mark Wahlberg (Deepwater Horizon, Lone Survivor), and fearlessly stands up against the villainous Megatron to defend her quirky robo-sidekick. She is also seen befriending a gaggle of adorable baby Dinobots!
Transformers: The Last Knight, due out in theaters June 23rd, returns director Michael Bay once again behind the camera for the fifth installment in the explosive series. The film is to be the first project to come out of Paramount’s new Transformers writers’ room, which will handle the stories of future sequels and spin-offs in the hopeful Transformers Cinematic Universe. The Last Knight is written being by Iron Man duo Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, as well as Black Hawk Down’s Ken Nolan.
