A new trailer has been released for Michael Keaton’s newest film. Keaton will star opposite Mika Kunis in the upcoming film Goodrich. Hallie Meyers-Shyer is taking up both directing and writing on Goodrich. This is only Meyers-Shyer’s second directorial work, following her 2017 film Home Again, which she also wrote. Goodrich sees a father, played by Keaton, who is suddenly forced to take care of his young children alone when his wife goes into rehab. With little support, he turns to his daughter from a previous marriage, played by Kunis, for help with his children when he has no one else.
The trailer promises an in-depth look at the dynamics between Keaton’s and Kunis’ characters. That includes some of the emotion that comes with Keaton’s character being an absent father for his first daughter. Keaton will make another appearance in a matter of weeks when he makes his return as the ghost with the most in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. This marks the first time that Keaton plays the titular poltergeist, Betelgeuse, since the first film in 1988. Deadline points out that other stars for the film include Andie MacDowell, Micahel Urie, Kevin Pollack, and Viven Lyra Blair, among other talents.
Goodrich comes out on October 18. Check out the trailer below.
