New Trailer for ‘The Kid Who Would Be King’

Today brought the release of the first full trailer for a film releasing next year by the name of The Kid Who Would Be King. This British fantasy adventure is both written and directed by English writer, actor, and director Joe Cornish. It stars Louis Ashbourne Serkis, Tom Taylor, Rebecca Ferguson, and Patrick Stewart.

The trailer shows Alex (Serkis) dealing with bullies who claim themselves the kings of the school grounds and can’t seem to get a break in life. That is until he stumbles across a sword lodged in a stone in an abandoned construction site which he is able to pull with ease. He shows his friend and they discover that writing on the sword references King Arthur, leading them to investigate. They run into a young man who claims to be Merlin who can change forms between old (Stewart) and young (Imrie). Merlin tells the boy of the plan of the evil Morgana (Ferguson) to rule the world. The three, plus a friend or two from school, embark on a quest to save their homes and the world.

The Kid Who Would Be King will be distributed by 20th Century Fox when it release on the 25th of January, 2019 in the US and the 15th of February, 2019. The trailer can be checked out below.

Robert Thornson Jr.: My name is Robert and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of California Irvine. I am pursuing a B.A. in Film and Media studies with hopes to work in the creative industry. I have always had a passion for storytelling and since youth I've loved film. I grew up loving the movies of directors like Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, and many more along with writers such as Aaron Sorkin and Quentin Tarantino. One thing I have always done is write about movies and communicate to others information about the "film community" and the industry as well as about the films themselves. I write creatively on a daily basis.
