A second teaser trailer for director George Miller’s much anticipated Mad Max: Fury Road has been released, and judging from the look of it, hard-core fans of the series will be very pleased with the next installment of the franchise. Check it out below.
Miller returns us to the bleak post-apocalyptic world of the first three films in the series. Tom Hardy (recently announced for 2016’s Suicide Squad) is our new Max, taking over the role that arguably made megastar out of Mel Gibson. Hardy is joined by Charlize Theron (A Million Ways to Die in the West) in quest to harness the meager resources of both oil and water, the lack of which has devastated the planet and led to fierce battles between warring factions. The trailer has everything you’d expect from a Max movie – plenty of dust, car chases, explosions, and even a fire tornado that wowed the crowds in San Diego at this year’s Comic-Con.
Miller directs from a script he co-wrote with Brendan McCarthy and Nick Lathouris. The Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow production is set to open in both 2D and 3D on May 15, 2015, just in time for the 30th anniversary of the last installment in the franchise, 1985’s Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.
