A trailer for David Yarovesky’s newest thriller has just been released. Dubbed Locked, the film stars Anthony Hopkins and Bill Skarsgård. Locked follows a thief pulling off different jobs, trying to get a grasp on his life. When he tries to rob a high-end SUV, he bites off more than he could chew when he realizes the owner of the SUV wants to trap him in the car.
As stated, both Hopkins and Skarsgård, two seasoned horror veterans, will lead the cast. The supporting talents are rounded out by Ashley Cartwright, Michael Eklund, and Navid Charkhi.
MovieWeb pointed out that Hopkins became one of the most recognizable faces across the horror genre as Hannibal Lecter in Jonathan Demme’s thriller, Silence Of The Lambs, a role which led to an Academy Award for Hopkins in 1992.
Similarly, Skarsgård has become widely recognizable within horror, but more recently. Among roles in Barbarian and IT, Skarsgård’s most recent claim to fame was his role in Nosferatu, as the nefarious and haunting Count Orlok.
The trailer for the film, which Entertainment Weekly initially reported on, delivers a claustrophobic feel that one would gather from the synopsis. Skarsgård’s character is shown to be a sympathetic one, but the controller of his car overlooks all this, stating that he specifically wants him to pay for the crimes he committed.
Locked hits theaters March 21st. Check out the trailer below.
