Upcoming film In The Name Of Blood has received a brand new trailer. The film comes from first-time director Akaki Popkhadze.
In The Name Of Blood takes place in a small neighborhood that gets shaken to the core when one of their residents is shot and killed. The aftermath puts one family on a path that they never expected to be on, and one that will force them to face the mistakes of their past.
This is the first time that Popkhadze has helmed a feature film. He has several other short film credits to his name, however, including I See and Here In Silence All Screams. He also served as a writer on both films, akin to In The Name Of Blood, which he co-wrote with star Florent Hill.
The trailer for the film took a silent approach to the story, conveying the themes of the movies through visuals. It does depict the shooting that serves as the inciting incident, but uses select scenes to show how the family has to deal with the fallout.
Variety reported that the cinematographer of the film, Justin Vaudaux, spoke to them about how he and the director approached shooting the movie.
One aspect he explained was their usage of both an 8mm and a 12mm lens, put on a Super35 sensor, done to meld the characters and their surroundings in hopes of drawing in the viewer more effectively. Variety was also able to sit down and speak to the director, as well as posting the trailer.
