New Trailer for ‘Detective Pikachu’ Reveals Even More Pokemon Including Legendaries

A new trailer for the upcoming Detective Pikachu movie has just been released. This new trailer shows off even more Pokemon than ever before. While the first trailer mostly focused on Pokemon from the first generation of games the second trailer includes Pokemon from the later generations including Ludicolo and Loudred. A complete list of the known Pokemon that will appear in this movie can be found here. The second trailer also reveals more about what the plot including the fact that the titular Detective Pikachu, voiced by Ryan Reynolds, has amnesia, and that he will be assisting Tim Goodman, played by Justice Smith, in finding his missing father.

The thing that has fans really excited about this trailer are the appearances of Legendary Pokemon. For a brief moment statues of the Legendary Pokemon Diagla, Palkia, and either Arcues or Giratina can be seen behind a Flareon. Some fans are also interpreting the scene with the Flareon as a reference to the infamous Twitch Plays Pokemon event, though this has yet to be confirmed. However most of the excitement seems to be coming from the appearance of a Mewtwo in the trailer.

Mewtwo is a Legendary Pokemon from the first generation of games, who is a clone of the Legendary Mew. Both Mew and Mewtwo had major roles in the first movie of the Pokemon anime, and many Pokemon fans suspect that this Mewtwo will be playing a similar role in this movie.

As of right now none of these fan theories have been confirmed. Fans will just have to wait until the film is released on May 10th.
