Walt Disney Studios released a new trailer for Hollywood Stargirl, a fresh sequel to their 2020 film available on Disney+ streaming. The film centers around Grace VanderWaal reprising her role as Stargirl, featuring a new original song, “Figure It Out.”
The trailer for Hollywood Stargirl shows Stargirl making a move from Mica, Arizona, to Los Angeles, where she meets a new group of friends helping her achieve her dreams of stardom. Judy Greer joins the cast as Stargirl’s mother, a newly hired costume designer, as the reason for their move to California.
Elijah Richardson, Tyrel Jackson Williams, Judd Hirsch, and Uma Thurman round out the cast as people joining Stargirl on her path to success. Uma Thurman acts as Roxanne Martel, a musician dedicated to teaching Stargirl the importance of original music. Richardson and Tyrel will play filmmaking brothers offering Stargirl her “big break” role.
The film will release on Disney+ on June 3, with Julia Hart and Jordan Horowitz penning the screenplay. Hart is set to direct the film based on Jerry Spinelli’s original book Stargirl. Spinelli is part of the production as one of the executive producers alongside Kristin Hahn and Nathan Kelly.
