Tim Burton’s newest work is just on the horizon. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice just received a new trailer, and a new poster as well.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is the follow up to 1988 film, Beetlejuice. The original film saw a happily married couple face an untimely death, forcing them to turn to a duplicitous poltergeist if they want to stop their old home from falling into the wrong hands.
Michael Keaton is back as Betelgeuse, the tricksy poltergeist from the first film, after being summoned to by Lydia Deetz, played by Winona Ryder.
Ryder is reprising her role from the first film, with Catherine O’Hara also returning from the first film.
The returning cast members are joined by Jenna Ortega, Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci, and Justin Theroux.
Deadline notes that the new film carries over more talents than just Jenna Ortega from Wednesday. The script itself was written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. The story for the draft came from Seth Grahame-Smith as well as the two writting the script.
The trailer delivers plenty of call-backs to the first film, similar to the new poster as well, which is done in a way that closely mirrors the one of the original film.
Outside of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Burton’s most recent cinematic endeavor was the 2019 reimagining of Dumbo. Burton is also responsible for other cinema staples, such as Edward Scissorhands and Batman.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is summoned onto theater screens September 6th. Check out the new trailer below.
