The Batman is less than a month away from its release date and Warner Bros is promoting the film like no other with new trailers releasing almost every other week. Just a few days ago, we got a glimpse of the scene on the funeral attack and now a two-minute trailer with the spotlight on Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman.
The new trailer labeled “New Friend” starts with Alfred (Andy Serkis) asking the question, “New friend of yours?” and Bruce Wayne (Robert Pattinson) answers, “I’m not so sure”. They are looking at security camera footage of Catwoman, a mysterious burglar with a taste for expensive jewelry heists. Catwoman, who we know to be Selena Kyle from the Comic books and previous films, is on a mission of her own and is at the center of this new trailer. While she considers Batman to be an entertaining distraction, she has her eyes set on the Falcone crime family. It is unclear what her connection to Gotham’s Mafia is, but she seems to have strong ties to the family.
Catwoman is known to be a beloved DC comics character that is shown to always be dancing on the line between good and evil, right and wrong, lawful and chaos. While she enjoys the fun and games of her nightlife as a high-stakes thief, Batman is less amused by her criminal activity. The trailer shows much of that love/hate chemistry that these two fan-favorite characters share. The Batman is set to release on March 4th.
