New ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows’ Trailer Brings More Vibrant Action

Even though 2014’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles received generally mixed reviews, it still managed to be successful at the box office as well as garner large fan base. And now Paramount is delivering a sequel that looks to have even more colorful and spirited action than its predecessor did. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows follows the four crime-fighters as they go up against many familiar characters; the villain Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady, and also introducing the star of the Arrow television series, Stephen Amell, as supporting player. And the new minute-long trailer shows more of the massive city destruction and chaos that we will be in for, which is no doubt influenced by the major producer on the series, Michael Bay.

One major difference in the sequel is Dave Green stepping on to direct instead of bringing back Jonathan Liebesman for a second time. While it does seem to sport a similar style and tone, it’s possible that the studio is aware of some of the negative reception that the first had and so they are doing their best to improve on that. Either way, the film looks like it will be a fun ride nevertheless, and should do very well with various types of audiences.

The sequel has a quite a strong cast that includes Megan Fox and Will Arnett, with the turtles being voiced by Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Pete Ploszek, and Johnny Knoxville; there’s also a few newcomers like Tyler Perry and Laura Linney added to the mix. There’s a lot to like about what we have seen so far and hopefully it will coalesce into a memorable blockbuster. In the meantime, check out the wild new trailer below.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows hits theaters on June 3, 2016.
