New Project From ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Producer And Director Lands At Apple

The creative minds behind Top Gun: Maverick are teaming up once again for a new movie. Instead of the Air Force, though, it’ll be focused on UFOs, with Apple gladly abducting the project for distribution.

Still in its infancy of production, the film will follow a mystery surrounding the discovery of unidentified flying objects, and the conspiracy that unfolds because of it.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, this marks another collaboration in a very successful string of the two partnering. As stated, their most notable endeavor together was that of Top Gun: Maverick, which released back in 2022 to rave reviews and went on to make a whopping $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office.

Reportedly, the deal locked in with Apple marks a huge achievement for both Kosinski and Bruckheimer. Kosinski’s end of the deal includes up to eight figures, while Bruckheimer’s is in the range of seven figures. The duo also have another movie from Apple, F1, releasing in June of this year.

Hollywood Reporter noted, as well, that this could skyrocket Kosinki’s status to match that of other massively acclaimed directors. The figures included in his deal puts him on par with some of the biggest names in the industry, even with a limited number of directorial credits to his name.
