Universal has launched a new website in its viral marketing campaign for Jurassic World, the latest film and reboot for the Jurassic Park franchise. The website is a mock-site for Masrani Global, the company behind the reopening of the theme park that brings dinosaurs back to life.
The website’s “About” section says Masrani bought InGen, the company run by John Hammond (Richard Attenbourgh) in the first two films that built the original park. Irrfan Kahn (Life of Pi) plays Simon Masrani, the head of the company, and is featured prominently on the site.
The site also includes a number of stills from the movie featuring BD Wong, who reprises his role as Dr. Wu from the first film. With Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Judy Greer (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Jake Johnson (Let’s Be Cops), Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help), and Vincent D’Onofrio (The Judge) also staring, it’s unclear how prominent Wong will be in the film.
Some unconfirmed concept art for the fictional park was also leaked on Reddit, featuring a portion of the park called “Marine Zone.” This gives reason to believe there will be aquatic prehistoric creatures in the upcoming film when it releases June 12, 2015. Pterodactyls were prominently featured in Jurassic Park III, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the fourth film featured water-based monsters.
