Just two years after the release of Jurassic World: Dominion, Universal is in talks to produce a new Jurassic World movie. Details are hidden, but original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp has returned to pen this franchise entry’s script.

According to the studio, the film has been coming along nicely, with many people satisfied with Koepp’s approach to a “new Jurassic era.” Universal hasn’t made clear yet what this new era would entail, but it’s heavily implied that neither the reboot’s cast nor the original trilogy’s cast will reappear this time. Additionally, the film has been called a new Jurassic World movie instead of a new Jurassic Park film, meaning that it could go in a new direction based on the World trilogy’s semi-apocalyptic ending.

No director has been attached to the project yet, but Jurassic Park veteran producers Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley have returned to the crew to produce. Additionally, Steven Spielberg will act as this feature’s executive producer through his Amblin Entertainment production banner.

As soon as the new film was announced, many JP fans took to social media to express their excitement or deride the possibility of a follow-up feature. One fan noted that they loved the films for “what each tried to do, despite them all being messy,” and hoped that whatever came about, the final product would be good. Another fan complained that the franchise should settle with the Camp Cretaceous cartoon instead of trying to force out a new sequel.

I’m a total slut for the Jurassic films. Jurassic Park is blockbuster cinema perfection, and the rest of the films are comfort movies for me. I enjoy what each tried to do, despite them all being messy (except JW:D which is just bad).

Completely agree, given the first Jurassic Park is my all time favourite and inspiration for filmmaking, I grew up wanting more, the latest were disappointing, just leave it be, carry on with the camp Cretaceous cartoons if you must but that should be it

Either way, the film has been slated for a potential 2025 release date, leaving fans waiting to see where their favorite dinosaurs will go next.
