As Disney D23 continues, Marvel Studios has released a new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, focusing primarily on Dr. Doom. The trailer gives audiences more glimpses of Robert Downey Jr. as Victor Von Doom.
The trailer also provides more details about Dr. Doom, including his backstory and motivations. The trailer shows his relationship with the Fantastic Four, opening with a voiceover by Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm. “Victor was always the smartest guy in the room,” Sue Storm says in the opening voiceover. “He used to be different.” A brief interaction between Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic and Doom is also seen. “Victor, did you do this?” Reed Richards says in this interaction.
Later parts of the trailer hint at Doom’s motivations. A brief shot shows a tapestry of Doom’s wife and child, previously used as a poster for Avengers: Doomsday. Later in the trailer, a voiceover is heard from Robert Downey Jr’s Dr. Doom. “All of you have lived stolen lives. But now you must give them back,” says Doom in this voiceover, which is set against shots of various heroes and their families. The trailer concludes with an extended version of the Thor vs Doom fight seen in the previous trailer, now featuring a moment of Doom summoning an armada of Sentinels.
Avengers: Doomsday is releasing in theaters on December 18th, with tickets now on sale. This new trailer can be viewed below:
