DC Films has a stacked slate for 2022 and the studio has just released a 60-second teaser titled “The World Needs Heroes”, with new looks from The Batman, Black Adam, The Flash, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Coming to theaters on March 4, The Batman is the closest release of the DC slate. The film stars Robert Pattinson in the titular role and Zoe Kravitz opposite him as Catwoman. The teaser teases Catwoman preparing Batman for a showdown for Gotham City – presumably instigated by The Riddler, the main antagonist of the film played by Paul Dano.
Black Adam, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, is the next film teased, set for release on July 29. He narrates “my son dreamt of a better world, that’s why he saved me”, teasing some of Adam’s motivations and backstory sure to be explored in the film.
The Flash is another highly anticipated film coming November 4. The film stars Ezra Miller as The Flash and is rumored to be a time-traveling, multiversal flick and the teaser shows the character attempting to save his mother from an untimely death.
Finally, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is teased, starring Jason Momoa as Aquaman. This is the second installment in the Aquaman franchise. Momoa has also appeared in Justice League and Zack Snyder’s Justice League starring alongside an ensemble cast. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be released in theaters on December 16.
