As the first major comic book film of the next decade, many are very curious about Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn. This will be the next film in Warner Bros’ DC line up and a follow up to 2016’s Suicide Squad, with Margot Robbie returning as the iconic Harley Quinn. In preparation for the next trailer that’s set to come out tomorrow, Warner Bros released a new poster for their upcoming film.
This time around, the poster parodies Sandro Botticelli’s famous Birth of Venus painting, featuring Harley Quinn on the iconic shell with a sledgehammer daunting her new outfit. Meanwhile, a lot is going on in the background including a Hynea, a Beaver and what looks to be a run down carnival. The poster also features Renée Montoya (Rosie Perez), Cassandra Cain(Ella Jay Basco), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), all with elaborate poses in the mix.
The poster seems to replicate the colorful insanity commonly associated with a character as over the top as Harley Quinn. With the next trailer on the horizon, fans can only hope that it will showcase the craziness that this poster is promising. Fortunately, they will be able to witness not only the trailer very soon but the film itself, since it’s set for release in early February. It’s only a matter of time till fans get to see Margot Robbie portray Harley once again.
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn is set for release February 7th 2019.
