Steamy news came out from Deadline that Netflix has given the green light to the Polish erotic film 365 Days for two more films, which tantalized audiences worldwide and has caused a significant amount of controversy and outrage over its depiction of toxic romance following its premiere on the streaming service.
Barbara Białowąs and Tomasz Mandes will return to direct both the sequels with the Polish author of the trilogy Blanka Lipinska to co-write the script with Mojac Tirs for the sequels.
The plot of the first film follows a young Polish woman imprisoned by a Sicilian gangster who gives her a year to fall in love with him while he holds her captive.
The original cast members will return for the sequels like Michele Morrone and Anna-Maria Sieklucka, and in itself is a spoiler alert. All those who watched the first film know what a cliffhanger that ending was. Magdalena Lamparska will also return. Simone Susinna is the newest actor to join the movie as a new character named Nacho.
The film will still be based on the other books in the series. Laura and Massimo are reunited, but their new beginning is threatened by Massimo’s family connections, and an enigmatic man who enters Laura’s life to win her and her trust by any means possible.
“365 Days was one of our most popular films for our members in 2020,” Netflix’s Łukasz Kluskiewicz, Content Acquisition Manager of films for CEE and Poland, told Deadline. “We’re working closely with Blanka Lipinska, the author of the 365 Days trilogy of books and writer of the film, to continue Laura and Massimo’s story on screen. Their journey together is full of many twists and turns as our characters continue to grow and learn more about themselves.”
The films will be shot back to back with a release on Netflix in 2022.
