Netflix Rom-Com ‘La Dolce Villa’ Casts Scott Foley In Italy-Set Story

Scandal star Scott Foley has been cast in La Dolce Villa, a new romantic comedy from original Mean Girls and Freaky Friday director Mark Waters. Deadline’s report on the casting also revealed that The American’s Violante Placido, Do Revenge’s Maia Reficco, and Italian actor Giuseppe Futia are set to be in the film. The script was made by writing pair Elizabeth Hackettt and Hilary Galanoy, known for Falling Inn Love and A Perfect Pairing.

La Dolce Villa is set to follow Eric, a successful businessman played by Scott Foley when his daughter, Olivia, buys a ravaged villa in Italy for one euro, and has big plans to renovate it. Eric follows his daughter to make sure that she does not spend all of her money on renovations. When he arrives, however, Eric is swept up in the beauty, magic and romance of Italy.

The script was made by writing pair Elizabeth Hackett and Hilary Galanoy, known for Falling Inn Love and A Perfect Pairing. The pair are also serving as executive producers. Robyn Snyder, Deborah Evans, and Nicola Rosada will also produce the film. Director Mark Waters is also directing Mother of the Bride, another romantic comedy which is set to premiere on Netflix in May.
