On Tuesday morning, Chris Hemsworth debuted the action-packed trailer for the upcoming Netflix movie, Extraction. This upcoming action thriller sees the Thor actor teamed up with producers Joe and Anthony Russo, who previously worked together with Hemsworth on Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.
Extraction also marks the directorial feature debut of Marvel Cinematic Universe stunt coordinator and actor Sam Hargrave, who has appeared in other MCU films like Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. Joe Russo also wrote the screenplay, so the movie will undoubtedly have lots of MCU-influenced action scenes. In addition to Hemsworth, the cast includes David Harbour, Rudhraksh Jaiswal, Randeep Hooda, and Golshifteh Farahani.
Extraction was shot in Ahmedabad and Mumbai, with additional filming in Ban Pong, Ratchaburi, Thailand, and on-location in Dhaka. The trailer gives a glimpse of Tyler Rake (Hemsworth), a fearless black market mercenary who gets entangled in a war between opposing drug lords. The story revolves around him as he partakes in his deadliest mission yet: rescue the kidnapped child of an international crime lord.
It would be a lot more exciting and adrenaline-stimulating to see this action-heavy thriller on the big screen, but because that is not an option due to the coronavirus pandemic, audiences will have to turn to Netflix. Hemsworth took to Twitter to express his excitement for Extraction: “So happy to finally be able to share the trailer for Extraction with you all! This has been a difficult few months for all of us, and we hope this will provide a bit of entertainment while we are all staying home.”
Extraction premieres on Netflix on April 24. Watch the trailer below:
