Netflix just dropped the first official trailer of upcoming romantic comedy Love Wedding Repeat. Directed by Dean Craig, the comedy stars Sam Claflin, Olivia Munn, and Freida Pinto. Based on the 2012 French film Plan De Table, the film explores alternate versions of the same wedding and features hilarious feuds re-flamed by quirky characters and half baked schemes.
The synopsis is that Jack, played by Claflin, tries to make sure his little sister has the perfect wedding day. But that means he’ll have to juggle an angry ex-girlfriend (Pinto), an uninvited guest with a secret, a misplaced sleep sedative, and unexpectedly reuniting with the girl of his dreams who got away, Dina (Munn). Through navigating alternate versions of the same day, Jack might be able to find a happy ending of his own if he succeeds.
The trailer opens with the wedding ceremony and introduces the guests, including the ex-girlfriend and her new partner Chaz, who winds up in an awkward exchange about their dating history. Jack discovers that his crush Dina is at the wedding and hopes to win her back. Jack’s bride-to-be sister asks him to take care of a problem where an eccentric man named Marc Fisher arrived at the ceremony and declares that he is in love with her. Jack deals with the issue by dropping sleeping sedatives in Fisher’s drink, only to discover too late that the seating arrangements have been switched. Jack also discovers too late that he ended up sitting next to his ex-girlfriend. A fast-paced, hilarious montage of chaos ensue. At the end of the trailer, it seems that Jack has ended up being sedated and needs to get it out of his system, only to be caught by Dina.
