Netflix has announced a new interactive film in which viewers will be able to make romantic decisions for the characters in the film. Laura Marano, Avan Jogia, Scott Michael Foster, and Jordi Webber are set to star in Choose Love, Netflix’s first romantic comedy to receive interactive treatment.
Stuart McDonald (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) is set to direct the film with Robyn Snyder, Deborah Evans, Mel Turner, and Axel Paton as a producing team behind him. All three of them have worked together on Netflix films such as Falling In Love and Afterlife of the Party.
The film will take viewers through the journey of the main characters’ lives while allowing them to take over the course of their love stories, allowing decisions that create multiple different endings and unique storylines.
The story will follow Cami (Morano), who seemingly has it all and is headed towards a happy ending with her boyfriend Paul, but as it would be, she feels like something is missing. This is where the choices and dilemmas will come in for the audience. What if she is missing out on a better career? Or a long-abandoned dream of singing? What is Paul isn’t the love of her life but rather the British rock star, Rex Galier (Jogia), who walked into her studio and falls for her? Could the love of her life be the one that got away, Jack Menna (Webber)? Oh, decisions, decisions.
The interactions will come in the form of frivolous “Truth or Dare” games in which Cami will face a multitude of tempting and tough choices ranging from serious ethical dilemmas to heartbreaking romantic ones.
Josann McGibbon penned the project and is also set to executive produce. She also wrote the 1999 Julia Roberts rom-com Runaway Bride and Disney’s Descendants franchise.
Morano has recently starred in Netflix’s The Royal Treatment.
