Netflix Casts Actors to Voice the English-Language Animated Film ‘The Summit of the Gods’

Darren Barnet (Never Have I Ever), Rich Ting (Warrior), and Keiko Agena (Better Call Saul) have been casted to lead the voice for the English-language dub of Netflix’s The Summit of the Gods. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Patrick Imbert, The Summit of the Gods is based on the acclaimed manga by Jirô Taniguchi and the novel by Baku Yumemakura. 

The film chronicles Fukamachi, a Japanese photo reporter’s, encounter with a camera that may have belonged to Mallory, a famous mountaineer who disappeared in 1924. Throughout the plot, Fukamachi is exposed to the world of mountaineers on his way to the summit of the gods.

Acting alongside Barnet, Ting, and Agena are Ray Yamamoto, Gedde Watanabe, Clyde Kusatsu, Chris Naoki Lee, and Paul Nakauchi. 

The Summit of the Gods was debuted at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival in the filmmaker’s (Imbert) native French, Variety reports. The animated film’s writers are Jean-Charles Ostorero (collaboration), Imbert (screenplay), and Magali Pouzol (adaptation, dialogue, screenplay.), with Ostorero, Didier Brunner, and Stephan Roelants on board as producers. The score was composed by Amine Bouhafa.

The film was released in theaters on Nov. 19 and will begin streaming globally on Netflix starting Nov. 30, with the exception of France, Belgium, Japan, China, Korea, and Indonesia.
