After the release of Wonder Woman 1984, actress Gal Gadot has already announced her next project. She will be starring in the spy thriller Heart Of Stone, which Netflix just officially bought. The plot of the film is still under wraps, so all we know for now is that it is a type of espionage thriller. According to Indie Wire, the film “…aspires to hatch a female-centric franchise with the action and global scale of films like Mission: Impossible and 007.” This will be Gadot’s second Netflix film, as she is currently starring in Rawson Marshall Thurber’s Red Notice alongside Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds.
Heart of Stone will be directed by Tom Harper (The Aeronauts, Wild Rose), while Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder are writing the script. Netflix bought the film from Skydance Media, which marks the fourth Skydance film that Netflix has acquired. Other films that Netflix and Skydance Media teamed up on include The Old Guard, Ryan Reynolds’ 6 Underground, and the upcoming Shawn Levy film, The Adam Project. Heart of Stone just began pre-production, so it doesn’t have an official release date yet, but it is scheduled to be available for on the streaming platform sometime in late 2021.
