

According to The Hollywood Reporter, multiple famous actors ranging from Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) to Mel Gibson (The Passion of the Christ, Braveheart) have starred in trailers for various films for the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Most of the shorts are directed by Ivan Zacharias (The Sleepers, Mulit) in the black and white filter. Other key stars include Andy Garcia (Father of the Bride, Ocean’s Eleven), Casey Affleck (Manchester by the Sea, Gone Baby Gone), Danny Devito (Matilda, The Lorax), Harvey Keitel (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction), Helen Mirren (The Thursday Murder Club, MobLand), John Malkovich (Of Mice and Men, Red) and Milos Forman (Man on the Moon, Amadeus).
KVIFF stated when it came to casting,

Other notable trailer details include Affleck visiting a pawn shop, Mirren deciding where to out her trophy, Law is on the phone to get his car fixed but calls the shots as it was too expensive and breaks his award to put it on his car and Malkovich’s interaction with his driver as the driver seems unimpressed for his lifetime award.
