Even more characters have been confirmed for the upcoming live action Mortal Kombat movie reboot. According to Screen Rant, several characters from the video game Mortal Kombat 3 would be joining the cast, hopefully with plenty of fatalities. This revelation came about earlier this week when a user on Twitter tweeted to the movie’s screen writer Greg Russo on whether the filmmakers were planning on using any of the characters from Mortal Kombat 3. To that, Russo replied, “In the words of Kool-Aid Man: Oh yeah!”
Unfortunately, Russo did not specify which Mortal Kombat 3 characters would be appearing in the reboot. However, The tweet asking Russo this question did included pictures of various characters from the game including Sektor, Cyrax, Kabal, and Nightwolf. However, at this time we do not know if Russo meant that one of those four would be included or if some other characters not shown in the picture like Sheeva, Stryker, and Sindel would make the cut.
At this time, we know that the Mortal Kombat reboot will include Sub-Zero, who will be played by Joe Taslim, Scorpion, who will be portrayed by actor Hiroyuki Sanada, and Shang Tsung, who is being played by Chin Han. The movie is being directed by Simon McQuoid.
