There’s been a lot of talk about the two upcoming Mission: Impossible films that are set to release later this year and sometime next year, but we still haven’t seen a trailer. But, after director Christopher McQuarrie responded to a fan on Twitter, he made it clear that we aren’t the only ones waiting to see some footage.
“I promise to tell you the minute I see one myself,” McQuarrie replied to Twitter user Harrison O’Clair, who first tweeted at the director a short and sweet, “DROP THE TRAILER ALREADY.”
Reportedly, most of Mission: Impossible 7 has been shot, but production has yet to officially wrap. The film is set to release November 19, so if the date holds, it shouldn’t be too long before we see something from the new sequel. The film is also set to release to Paramount Pictures streaming service Paramount+ 45 days after its theatrical release.
After the action-packed blockbuster that was Mission: Impossible – Fallout, it makes sense why fans would be eager for another entry. McQuarrie teased that the stunts Tom Cruise is performing in the new films will make his helicopter chase from Fallout “look like tinker toys.” Even after 6 entries, it seems Cruise and McQuarrie are finding more ways to raise the bar.
