Mishel Prada has been cast to co-star alongside Kiernan Shipka in Sophie Tabet’s directorial debut film, Stone Cold Fox. Tabet cowrote with Julia Roth and stated with Deadline, “Stone Cold Fox is a love letter to the American action films of the ’80s, but one that gives women, immigrants, and queer characters seats at the table.”
Tabet expressed immense joy in having the chance to explore underrepresented roles in the action-packed revenge thriller. Prada, coming off success with her appearances in Vida and The Continental, will play the part of “Frankie” an ex-combat medic who assists Shipka’s character the “Fox” with breaking into a commune compound run by the evil Queen Pin and her crooked cop henchmen to save their loved ones.
Production has since begun for Stone Cold Fox but there has yet to be a release date announced nor a distribution plan. The action thriller is helmed by producers from Bee-Hive’s Stephen Bruan and the Wonder Company’s Eric B. Fleischman, Chris Abernathy, and Jonathan Craven. The film’s executive producer is no other than Joe Roth, who will be working closely with Tabet and Roth to get the film off the ground. Production is set to commence and finish by the end of this summer.
